Affordable Housing Conversations: Durant House & Open Space

Sun, Dec 10 • 11:45 am

Loper Chapel

As the congregation continues to discern whether to building affordable housing on the First Church campus, The Affordable Housing Subcommittee of the Blue Sky Team is hosting a series of a conversations on some of the individual issues that have been raised.

On Sunday, December 10, the conversation will be about Durant House and open space. An affordable housing project could affect Durant House (would it be torn down or moved to another spot?) and the playground right next to Durant House that is used by East Bay School for Boys and the church.

The meeting will take place at 11:45 am in Loper Chapel.

On Sunday, November 19, a conversation about parking was held. You can watch the video of that meeting here...

Although the plans presented on October 22 by Satellite Affordable Housing Associates are only a broad view of what might be possible, they provide a helpful frame for identifying important issues that the church will need to consider in its discernment.

Additional conversations have been scheduled on other aspects of the proposed plan.
