Affordable Housing Conversations: The Economics of Affordable Housing

Sun, Jan 28 • 11:45 pm

Loper Chapel

As the congregation continues to discern whether to build affordable housing on the First Church campus, The Affordable Housing Subcommittee of the Blue Sky Team is hosting a series of a conversations on some of the individual issues that have been raised.

On Sunday, January 28 (note change of date), the conversation will be about the economics of affordable housing. The presentation will explore the financial side of affordable housing development, including possible compensation to First Church for use of part of its property.

The meeting will take place at 11:45 am in Loper Chapel.

On Sunday, November 19, a conversation about parking was held. You can watch the video of that meeting here...  A conversation about Durant House and open space was held on December 10. Unfortunately, we were unable to capture audio or video of that meeting. On Sunday, January 7, a presentation and conversation on The Crisis in Affordable Housing and Solutions took place. Watch a video of this conversation...

Although the plans presented on October 22 by Satellite Affordable Housing Associates were only a broad view of what might be possible, they provided a helpful frame for identifying important issues that the church will need to consider in its discernment.

The final conversation on the Economics of Affordable Housing has been rescheduled to take place on January 28 at 11:45 am.
