Sanctuary, Front Lawn & Playground
All are invited to join in as First Church welcomes the new season with a Fall Festival Sunday on September 23 beginning at 10 am.
The day will be a perfect opportunity to "try out" the First Church community if you are looking for a place for refreshment for your whole self! From worship through the “after-party” expect joy and celebration, including ice cream, special music, a bouncy house set up in the playground behind the church, and games on the front lawn.
Senior Minister Molly Baskette will preach and the service will include special music. Rumors are that the Ukulele Orchestra will perform.
Join with you family and friends to take fun photos at the photobooth in the Cloister!
That Sunday will also mark the beginning of the fall Sunday School schedule which includes break-outs by age: Preschool (ages 3-5), Godly Play (K – 3rd grades) and the Bible Intro Class (4th – 6th grades). Children will attend the first part of the 10 am worship service with their parents and leave for Sunday School after the Children’s Sermon. Parents are invited to accompany their children to their new classrooms and then return to the Sanctuary when they are ready.
The nursery will also be open throughout the service in Loper Chapel. A special activity area for parents and children will be set up as usual in the Hall of Entrance for those who wish to stay close by the service.
After Care will resume this Sunday as well, whereby parents can sign their kids in for childcare in the play yard at 11:45 in order to attend church sponsored programs and meetings until 1 pm. Please provide lunch for your children.
