Chancel in the Sanctuary
On Good Friday, March 30 at 7:30 pm, we commemorate the day that Jesus was crucified with a candlelight “Tenebrae” service on the Chancel in the Sanctuary.
The service will include scripture readings about that time, singing and silence. The word "tenebrae" which means “shadows” or “darkness” also refers to a ritual of extinguishing a series of candles.
Also, the Sanctuary will be open all day on Good Friday, from 7 am to 7 pm. Come and sit in the silence at anytime during the day for as long as you choose. At the top of each hour, there will be a brief time of music, prayer and scripture. Someone will also be present throughout the day to pray with you if you choose.
