A new bible study group has formed that aims to explore queer themes in scripture, centered in the young adult community but open to all ages, led by FCCB member Jane Arc. The group will meet once a month complete with yummy food!
The next meeting is Monday, April 29 at 7 pm in the Tower Room (enter up the Sanctuary stairs to the balcony). During the month, via group chat (Facebook Messenger), we will be discussing the scripture for that month so that people can participate on their own schedule, rather than needing to wait for a specific time and to reduce the burden of having meetings that are hard to attend: Curious? Join the chat at http://bit.ly/2GJAYC6, or contact Jane (through Realm or at church) and Jane can add you.
Queer Bible Study is for everyone. You do not need to identify as queer to participate, and, in fact, are encouraged to participate; sharing experiences helps allies better understand the internal experience of queer people (and the Christian gospel is inherently “queer” in many ways). If you are interested in learning about and exploring the Bible from an open, inclusive perspective, this bible study is for you! No previous experience or knowledge required.
