Do you long to understand and be transformed by the aging process?
Join Rev. Stephen Winton-Henry and Rev. Judy Huston on August 19 during the Learning Hour at 11:45 am in Loper Chapel for an experience of the Soul of Aging program. This will be a preview of an eight-session series to begin in October.
Developed by the Center for Courage and Renewal and based on the work of Parker Palmer (A Hidden Wholeness), The Soul of Aging addresses many of the spiritual dimensions of this season of our lives including forgiveness, aspects of ourselves still yearning for expression, our relationship with time and change, our legacies, befriending our own deaths and more.
We will practice tools for listening deeply to one another and create spaces that are safe for self-discovery and honest sharing. The eight-session series will take place the first Saturday morning of each month from October to May for 2.5 hours (except for the first session/ retreat which extends to mid-afternoon).
As we are building a small community of trust, regular attendance is strongly encouraged. There is a suggested donation to First Church Berkeley of $100 to cover the cost of materials and support its ministry.
