The Ministry of Care, Fellowship and Invitation invites you to bring a batch of your blue-ribbon chili to share with everyone on Sunday, July 22, when we will celebrate fellowship and summer with a Chili Cook-Off and Hootenanny after worship.
We will fill our bellies with our favorite chili recipes and dance and sing to folk songs led by Derek Tam and First Church musicians—hootenanny-style.
The children and youth will also have a lemonade stand to raise money for the Puente School Supply project. Donations of lemons for the hand-squeezed artisanal lemonade will be gratefully received on July 15 & 22.
Please bring your batch of chili (veggie or meaty; spicy or mild) in an electric slow cooker so that it can stay warm at church until the Hootenanny begins. Bring your chili to the Pillar Room prior to the 10 am service.
Sign up (to bring chili or to help set up or clean up) after church on upcoming Sundays. Contact Sara Woods with any questions or if you don’t have a slow cooker. We are looking forward to sharing the fun and spiciness of life together. Happy Summer, y’all!
