In the salutation of a letter to the people of Thessalonia (I Thessalonians 1:3), the writer lifts up the value of “steadfastness.” Being steadfast isn’t the sexiest trait in the world, but solid dependability, showing up consistently and continuing to take the small steps of the life of faith and justice is a valuable trait.
