Sermon

Minister of Art & Communication Phil Porter reads a passage from the book of Acts (4:32-35) describing how the early communities of Jesus' followers shared what they had so no one was in need. He suggests that in this time, "we" is a powerful idea—to see how powerful it is for us to come together across lines that may seem to keep us apart. As the church's stewardship campaign culminates in Pledge Sunday and as we celebrate All Saints Day by naming those we have lost in the last year, we can see the combining of our resources as a way of supporting a "we" that is not defined by the church walls or even by time.
