On Friday, September 30, 2016 a fire damaged part of the First Church Berkeley campus. The church was unable to worship in the Sanctuary, so we met at 2 pm on Oct. 2 at First Presbyterian Church of Berkeley across the street.
In the wake of the September 30 fire that damaged a significant part of First Church Berkeley, Senior Minister Molly Baskette reminds the congregation that we have a “building from God not made by human hands” (2 Corinthians 5:1). The church community will be displaced but will still be strong together. The time to come will be a time to both grieve and dream as we reimagine our ministry.
